You can host two types of sessions on Quizizz: live and assigned (or asynchronous). On the activity detail page, select the session type you'd like to start.

Start Live Session

If you choose to start a live session, you'll launch an interactive presentation with a leaderboard and engagement tools. You control the pace, so everyone moves through the questions together.

Click on the 'Start Live Session' button to begin. You’ll be prompted to choose a session mode, such as Classic, Instructor-Paced, or Test Mode.

Select the mode that fits your needs, customize the session settings, and click on 'Continue'. Then, choose a group and click 'Start now' to generate a session code you can share with participants.

Assign Activity

With Assign Activity, you can share a session code for self-paced tasks like self-study assignments or compliance training.

Set a deadline, and the session code will remain active until it expires.
Choose the mode that fits your needs, customize the session settings, and click on 'Continue'. Then, select a group and click on 'Start now' to generate a session code to share with participants.
